Virtual number app: receive SMS codes from your phone
A virtual number app lets you rent a number, see the SMS code arrive and top up your balance from your phone instead of a browser. On Android you install it from an APK file downloaded from the provider's own website; on iPhone you add the site to your home screen from Safari, and it opens like an app. Download it only from the provider itself. "Free number" APKs passed around on Telegram and WhatsApp are the most common way phones get infected in this trade.
Android
- Download the APK from the official siteOpen the install page in Chrome and download the file. Do not take an APK someone forwarded you.
- Allow the install onceAndroid asks you to allow installs from Chrome. Allow it for this file, then switch it back off if you prefer.
- Sign inUse the same account as on the website. Your balance and orders are the same in both.
iPhone
- Open the site in SafariAdd to Home Screen only works from Safari, not from Chrome on iPhone.
- Tap Share, then Add to Home ScreenThe icon appears with your other apps and opens full screen, without the browser bar.
What to avoid
- Modded or "premium unlocked" APKs that promise free numbers. Nobody pays the network for you; these apps make their money from your data, your contacts or your WhatsApp session.
- Apps that ask for accessibility access, SMS permissions or to become the default SMS app. A virtual number app needs none of these - the SMS goes to the provider, not to your phone.
- Anything that asks you to log in with your WhatsApp or Facebook account.
Common questions
Where do I download the Android app?
From the official install page on the website. That is the only safe source; never install a copy someone forwarded you.
Do I need a new account for the app?
No. Sign in with the account you already use on the website; balance, orders and history are shared.
Does the app read my SMS?
No. Codes go to the rented number at the provider and are shown inside the app. It does not need access to your own messages.
